Brenna + Joe.
Brenna. I grew up about a mile from Brenna and went to elementary, middle, and high school with her. We played in orchestras, made it through AP classes, and suffered through some terrible choir uniforms together. Brenna has seen almost all of my weird apartments (there have been many) and lets me sleep on her couch when I show up in the middle of the night. I am not the easiest person to maintain a friendship with; I keep weird hours and have always had a non-conventional schedule, but Brenna has always been in my life and I am incredibly grateful for her. She’s kind, confident, thoughtful, has the most beautiful smile, and has made me laugh countless times throughout our 25+ years of friendship.
Joe. Brenna first introduced me to Joe at the Friendly’s in our hometown. We have a close group of friends from high school and all boyfriends have had to undergo various tests and scrutiny from the crew. He has since had to endure many evenings/afternoons/Mets games/and beach days of five women taking over his space. He patiently listens and answers all of our James Bond, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones questions. Occasionally we agree to throw a football with him.
Together they make an amazing couple. They clearly belong together and make each other very happy. They also have a cat. Her name is Leia, which Brenna offered as a truce so that the name would be off the table for potential future children. (Smart woman).
Though the Friendly’s where Brenna introduced me to Joe is no longer there, Brenna and Joe are. They’re getting married next September and I cannot wait to go home to celebrate their wedding.
