The most important message of this post is:
There are only 4 more performances left of Old Paper Houses. Tickets are available here:
Piehole is a group of Brooklyn based artists creating original theater works. (They are also my friends from college). I photographed their final dress rehearsal of Old Paper Houses at the Irondale Ensemble Project about two weeks ago. Old Paper Houses is about the difficulty of winter in New England, utopian societies, poet farmers, community, and the drive to create.
New York is criticized for being a city that no longer fosters the creation of new theater. Piehole has managed to create new works over the last eight years in New York. Old Paper Houses has been in development over the last two and half years. Piehole has done a thing that many people think is nearly impossible. Though not a wedding, I wanted to share the beautiful and hopeful work my friends have created. Now go see the show!
These guys also asked me take pictures after their show in the “70’s room”. After every performance the audience is invited to hang out on the second floor of the theater. Every night there are different performers and for three nights I messed around with whoever wanted their picture taken. Clarence the ghost even came out and decided to be photographed!
