The Bowery Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in New York. The first time I went there was shortly after I moved to the city. The owners of the bar I was working at called a “staff meeting”. Being a young college grad I brought a notebook and wore a hoodie ready to take notes on how to be a better employee (I should mention one of my bar nicknames was “nerd alert”). I quickly learned “staff meeting” really meant a night out with our bosses and co-workers. The Bowery Hotel was the first place we went and I was embarrassed because of how grossly underdressed and not chic I was. However, it left an impact on me. I felt like I was transported to a posh 19th Century English Country lodge with the chandeliers, velour couches, and hanging crests and tapestries. I loved it.
Needles to say, I was very excited to work as the second shooter with Bo of CLY by Matthew on this wedding. Gorgeous flowers, a timeless venue, an amazing band, and a sweet couple in love created a beautiful and memorable wedding. One of my favorite moments was Ben and Lindsay’s first dance. They met at Emory College in Atlanta, and Don Eaton Band sang a stirring rendition of “Georgia on my Mind.” Thank you CLY by Matthew for the opportunity to photograph this wedding with you!
