For the second year Wink and Charlie Shackleton (of Shackleton Thomas), hosted 38 city dwelling artists in their Vermont home over the July 4th weekend. The weekend is coordinated by their daughter Sophie and Elliot B. Quick (both who I met performing in a musical in college). Everyone comes prepared to work on a project that they have already started, or want to pursue, and on the last day everyone shares a bit of what they have been working on. Last year this is where I started my #dayjobs project. This year I came up a day late after photographing a wedding in CT. My focus this year was to work on portraits, but quickly. I tend to overthink scenarios and spend way to much time second guessing myself. I tried to grab a person and just take a few photos of them within a couple of minutes and work with whatever space I was in. This weekend is a highlight of the summer and I am always so humbled and grateful for the opportunity to spend time with these kids.
Whole gang. One house. (And a barn, and tent city). Thank you Wink and Charlie!!!
