From the moment I talked with Katharine on the phone about photographing her wedding I felt like I was talking with a childhood friend. She grew up in CT, spent her summers on the Cape in Chatham, and lived in New York for years before picking up and moving to San Francisco. Within a year of being in SF she met Josh and for their wedding they decided to head back east to celebrate at the Wychmere Beach Club (which also…..is where my sister was married – coincidences galore!).
Katharine and Josh’s stylish modern wedding was beautiful and honestly a pretty enchanting day covered by the mysterious fog. When guests arrived to Wychmere I heard multiple people say, “You brought the bay weather with you!” I didn’t know entirely what photographing in 100% fog would look like, but I’d take it again in a heartbeat. So many thoughtful details went into this day – talented childhood friends designing the invites, Katharine altering her mothers wedding dress for her dancing/party dress, family Rabbi’s flying in from California, and also the most elegant floral designs for the evening. Also…..so many of the greatest hugs and dance moves went down at this wedding – two of my most favorite things.
